Buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist that addresses the biological basis for drug dependence. Office-based treatment of this patient population with buprenorphine has been highly successful.^10,11

To treat with buprenorphine, physicians must complete 8 hours of training in the management of opioid dependence.* Choose a training program now to get qualified.

* Note: Physicians certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialists, the American Osteopathic Association or the American Society for Addiction Medicine can prescribe buprenorphine without the need for further training.
